Cheap thrill for a foodie
I was running around my usual Saturday missions and I needed to stop in at John Dewar in Wellesley for a rabbit and some Wagyu for burgers tonight when I almost ran smack face right into my culinary goddess.
As I opened the door I saw a woman with wild, copper-red hair departing so I held the door, and then I realised just WHOM i was holding the door for.....Lydia Shire!
At least I didn't hyperventilate and go speechless like I did when I bumped into Helena Bonham Carter in a New Jersey airport, but I did manage to fluster out a few words.
I told her she was my culinary goddess and that she was the very reason I went to cooking school, she was very sweet and thanked me and asked what I do now. I'd much rather have bought her a scotch in a bar somewhere....but still, it was a cheap thrill for me!
