Happy New Year!
Today Mom and I went over to Create a Cook to finish setting up for the party we are having tomorrow with family and friends. Our 'Christmas' always happens a week late because that is when Mom and SD can drive up. I've been plotting and planning for weeks. The little Japanese fern above is part of the table decoration, the bar is set up and ready to go. There is a big batch of this punch chilling (champagne and ginger ale to be added tomorrow) and the fridge is full of wine and beer and champagne. One of the students who was there for December vacation week sauntered over to Sam and looked at her with a dead serious face and said "Do you know there is BEER in the FRIDGE?" - Sam just laughed and explained that we do parties for adults here as well.
Renee made these adorable gingerbread houses and cookies for the kids to decorate.
My sous chef Ali is coming to help and prep tomorrow morning.
