Calloo Callay!

So husband is sitting next to me on his own puter says out loud....'Calloo Callay'.
I ask him what that is and like a parent he says, 'Look it up'
So in to google I throw it.
Now I know the reference is Lewis Carroll from Jabberwocky, one of his Dad's favourite authors.
However in my hunt, I found this silly ditty by Jack Stack.

This of course was followed by "You are old Father William".

Also, there's "Cah-caw, cah-caw" which is the sound of a bird annoying me.

That brings back memories. In college, we were required to memorize four poems, I chose some Yeats, some Wordsworth, and Jabberwocky. When it was time for me to "recite" the poems during finals, I did the first three straighforward. For the fourth I left the room and came in the door, kicking it in with a sword in hand... my professor sat there with his mouth hanging open as I stood up on a chair yelling "Beware, the jabberwock my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!" as my plastic vorpal blade swung through the air and the mighty beast was slain!

I got an A. and a huge round of applause from the other 30 students who up to that point politely sat through all the recitations of Tyger poems and things slouching towards Jerusalem and many dafodills.

It is my finest moment in academia.

oh, and i correct me self. it's not slouching towards jerusalem, it's bethlehem. i'm ashamed. i tore up my degree and shat upon it. i'll be in hiding for messing that one up.

All is forgiven at the Sheep site....no worries.
Jerusalem, Bethlehem. Same poetic ring.
