It must have been *somebody*

Saturday evening we are in and around Newton doing errands.
As we left the Container store in Chestnut Hill and headed back towards Newton center on the Hammond Pond Parkway we saw three State Police Cruisers with lights flashing.  They were parked on the bridge over the T tracks.
When we left John Dewar's and headed out on Comm Ave. towards Auburndale every intersection we passed had a police cruiser or in one case 4 newton cops standing 3 on one corner and 1 on the other where Comm Ave Instersects with Centre street.
A couple of miles later where Comm Ave. insterstects with Auburn St. suddenly we saw 3 or 4 police bikes escorting about 4 large buses speeding Eastbound on Comm Ave.  The buses all looked rather nondescript but they did have blacked out windows.

I thought today's paper might give an inkling of who warranted police escorts through the city but we couldn't find anything.

Anyone have any ideas?

I spoke to my friend in Boston earlier this evening. She didn't mention anything of the sort.

I don't know, but it all sounds very very ODD ...

No, no it was NOT. It was me and all my friends. Don't you believe me!? We're wicked important.

Wicked.

We were out shopping for late Jo Birthday gifts. Happy Birthday. You caught us shopping! We're so embarassed.

Ah thanks so much Chris, but I somehow think Hugh Laurie wouldn't like riding in those big buses heh heh heh.

Football?! The hoopla was for college football?!?! I only remember speeding tickets in college, not police escorts so I could speed. Obviously I chose the wrong college.

Perhaps it was for the crazy people, like Josh and I, that braved going to Ikea this weekend. Because the traffic jam made it ALL THE WAY to Newton.
